Simply put: the more reviews, questions, answers and comments you write and the more photos you upload, the higher your ranking will be. You get one point for each contribution, BUT if you use your real name, you’re rewarded with a 1.5x boost for each submission. Why? Because you deserve credit for trusting your judgment and putting your reputation on the line to make this community better.
Helpful Counts: You gain an extra point every time someone gives one of your reviews, gear photos, questions, answers or comments a thumbs up. But it works both ways: a point is taken away for every thumbs down.
Overall Store Ranking: This is the number at the top of your Profile, next to your name. This number represents how you compare to all the other gear freaks in the Backcountry.com community.
Group Rankings: Under your review/question/answer/photos/comment stats, you’ll see more specific rankings. These numbers show how you compare to others within a group of products.
To see who’s above and below you, go to your Profile Page, and click on any of the ranking numbers. The big number on the top takes you to your position on the overall Leaderboard; the smaller blue numbers take you to individual group Leaderboards.
Just in case you were wondering: Backcountry.com employees are not ranked. We’re not down with nepotism.
